Development of An iOS Based Celebrity Rating App-PPLrated

Client Brief

The client approached us with a requirement to develop an iPhone app that would help the users to rate their favorite celebrities according to their preferences.

Our Endeavor

The main idea was to create an app for iPhone that would help the users to rate their favorite celebrities. Both disruptive and subversive, the app is meant to put the ability to review people in your hands, allowing the public to have their power felt.  There may be a transient uproar, but they know all will soon be forgotten with no consequence and they will continue on. PPLrated is here to empower the users to make their views about a public figure meaningful, with either a positive or negative way that is lasting and consequential. 

We have developed the app to rate celebrities based on the real-time rating given by the users. To use the features and functionalities of the app, a user needs to create an account and use the log-in credentials to sign-in to the app. After successfully log-in to the application, it will show the list of celebrity profiles based on different types of categories. User can rate the selected profile from 1 to 5 and also able to mark it as his/her favorite. Users can also view his own stats in the profile. This would show the following: 

My Status: My status displays a terminology (like a newbie, rookie, expert etc.) which would change once the user reaches a set number of total ratings.

Average: Average rating would display user’s average of the total ratings.

Total Rating: Total number of ratings provided by the user to other profiles.

A volume graph would be presented by: -

• 5 Day
• One Month
• 3 Month
• Month
• 1 year

User would be also able to browse the celebrity profiles in various categories. A list/wheel of categories would appear after the user selects categories from bottom navigation.

User would be able to select from following three options about Facebook settings:

• Always post on Facebook
• Never post on Facebook
• Ask After Every Rating

User can search the profile and can also add the profiles to his/her favorites.Users can also view the stats of the particular profile (like average rating received by the profile, 52 weeks low and high, volume (count of people viewed the profile), opening (first rating of the day) and the overall ranking of the profile) and allows users to share rating on Facebook.
