Development of An iOS App for Managing Medical Details - MyDosR

Client Brief

The client wanted us to the development of an iPad app that would help his target group to manage their medical details with ease.

Our Endeavor

MyDosR gives an instant access to the dashboard with full details of any overdue doses, the next dose of all medications, the date that the user will need to refill the prescription for each medication and the date when the users need to make an appointment with their doctor(s) for prescription repeats.

The iPad application allows users to add medication details with the images, doses to be taken and prescriptions. Users can add information about doctors and pharmacy. Users can set alerts of doses, notification of the need to refill a prescription by visiting the pharmacy or chemist, notification of the need to make a doctor's appointment to renew a prescription and reminder to go to the doctor to collect the required prescriptions. Users would be able to view the history of doses taken or skipped also. 

The app facilitates the users with the following features and functionalities:

• Prompts when medications are due
• Tracking dose availability
• Pharmacy details
• Manages prescription repeats
• Complete logging of dose history
• Sharing dose history via print and email

We have developed the application keeping in the mind that application will have to update itself on each dose taken. We have used core data to save the medication, doses, and event in the database. Client was having high expectation in terms of the UX and UI so we have designed the component first followed by integrating those components in the application. We have used local notification for the alarm feature and used custom sorting methods along with composite predicate to show the resultant on the dashboard where a user can view each information about the past and upcoming doses along with event associated with pharmacy and doctors.
