PHP eCommerce Website for Retail 'Oxood' - Handbags Store Online

Client Brief

The client came to us with a requirement of developing an ecommerce website where he can list a number of goods.

Our Endeavor

Oxood is an online e-commerce site based in the USA targeting buyers in Europe and Africa. The merchandise listed on the site are procured from major departmental stores in the USA. These goods are purchased from major USA chain as surplus or overstock. The site will also be displaying ads from Google Adsense. The break down of  the site target is : 50% of the target users are in Africa, 30% in the USA, and 20% in Europe.

The GUI design of the site was made by referring to competitor website shared by the client. The color scheme of website is a combination of light and vibrant and also the GUI is mobile device compatible.

The site is having numerous pages with thousands of products to list on them. About 2 promos will be going on every month to encourage buyers and we need to incorporate that feature where users can enter whatever promo code is advertised on our site or Facebook page. The users in Africa have the option to pay by going to the bank in Africa and paying into our business account. They are having a good Facebook presence. Since majority of the targeted users are on mobile devices, we have made it a mobile site too.

We worked to create an admin section so that the administrator can manage categories of the products. The categories can have different attributes and these can be managed from admin section. Various web forms and database structure were developed accordingly. We have also integrated front-end pages to facilitate browsing of the products and view product details. We developed the website using PHP MySQL and CakePHP framework.
